Socket Set Screw

Set screws have forged sockets, ensuring maximum strength and resistance to cracking in the corners. Smooth, flat, deep sockets, free of machining tears or boach chips. Less grain is exposed with forging making screws less likely to have hydrogen embrittlement. Socket walls are much stronger than those created by drill and broach method thereby reducing potential for failure. Threads on set screws are either rolled or ground, depending on size limitation. Set screws are available in coarse threads with points in the following configurations: cup and knurl.
